Meet Vitalii Iisovyi, co-founder of MovED, a movement of Voices For Freedom NGO
My name is Vitalii Iisovyi. I have been the head of the Ukrainian Future business incubator in Kyiv for the past five years, but in which I started working in 2017 together with colleagues from Ukraine and later from Finland. Since then, I have been involved in supporting entrepreneurship and the development of the innovation ecosystem. For many years, I have been working in the field of education and entrepreneurship, and I also have experience working in the Ukrainian parliament on the human rights committee. I have experience in teaching Italian and English as well. I believe that high-quality education and entrepreneurship are the key to the development of society and its well-being. Learning is a lifelong journey, so in recent years, I have been studying for an MBA program at LSBF, London School of Business and Finance. I also studied in the Global Entrepreneurship Class (UCSF Innovation Ventures) course at the University of California, San Francisco. In 2020, I was nominated for the International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP), which is managed by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the US Department of State.
In my work, I am responsible for the strategy development of the business incubator, the development of international partnerships, and the integration of Ukrainian startups into the global startup environment.
Given the current circumstances in Ukraine, Voices For Freedom is a timely organization that will contribute to the development of Ukraine and strengthens Ukrainian youth and their outlook for a free future. The diverse expertise in Voices For Freedom will help Ukraine provide access to quality education to children and adults in remote places and de-occupied territories, which fully meets the demands of the societies and the goals of the Ukrainian government and the recovery plan of Ukraine. Finland's best experience in education and entrepreneurship is decisive and will be instrumental in strengthening Ukrainian youth and their free future.
Voices For Freedom unites professionals from different fields and different countries - these are people from entrepreneurship, the field of education, marketing, the music industry, consulting, and other fields. All people are motivated and united by one goal: to contribute to the free future of Ukraine, its development, and the entire free world. The synergy of various experiences, cultures, and approaches allows us to develop a valuable support program and move to action already in the course of this year.
We have been fortunate to see the partner-network grow at an overwhelmingly fast rate. Our key partners are the Ministry of Good Spirit, the company KPMG Finland, and on the Ukrainian side we are thrilled to partner with the NGO Brainy education, the Junior Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, and Ukrainian Future Incubator. We are open to partnership and happy to cooperate for strengthening the youth and the future.
In general, both in Finland and Ukraine, interest in MovEd, a Voices For Freedom movement, and Oseredok project is growing primarily due to the urgency of the need for access to quality education that would complement the already existing infrastructure. Such interest can also be explained by the previous positive experience of cooperation, so last year, together with Mikko-Pekka Hanski and Hannele Mennala, we conducted Empowering Future Entrepreneurial Ukraine, one of the first programs for Ukrainian startups that can help solve the challenges Ukraine has faced. The unity between Finland, Estonia, and Ukraine has set a good example for professionals and entrepreneurs from other countries to join the force and work towards rebuilding Ukraine.
Currently, many international and local organizations are directing their activities to help Ukraine. I believe that what distinguishes us is the understanding of the need and the unique experience of the Voices For Freedom team, which will help to build Oseredok educational center with the application of the global educational solutions and creative learning.
